Dijkstra

Dijkstra works with single portraits of people. Her intent is to capture the innocence in adolescents. She makes not only the person but also the background extremely detailed in her beach pictures. She takes these awkward pictures to capture these adolescent women's bodies. She also does this with women that have just given birth. She takes these portraits against a minimal background.

Homage Russell James

This is the beginning of my homage project. I'm going to get more models to take pictures of before the end of my series. But this a good start.

Charlie Waite

Charlie Waite

Charlie Waite is firmly established as one of the world’s leading Landscape photographers. His photographic style is often considered to be unique, in that his photographs convey an almost spiritual quality of serenity and calm. Charlie's photographs are held in private and corporate collections throughout the world, and he has held numerous solo exhibitions at prestigious venues in the UK, Japan and the USA.

His images are pretty tight and I can't wait to recreate them.

This is my first attempt at trying to recreate the style of Charlie Waite

Second Chance HDR's

For my second chance series I decided to redo the HDR project. The first time around I did the typical white girl christmas lights. And failed miserably at it.

For the second chance I changed it up a bit and took HDR pictures of my fellow photo buddies. I really like how these turned out and the details I got from the process. I most definitely think I did better the second time around.

Second Chance

Before break we had to do an HDR series. I could have done so much more with this project. I really want to take this project another way then the typical white girl way of Christmas ornaments, and I also want to turn in more than 3 images. I'm not sure which way I want to go with this project yet, but since it's winter I may go with nature. Or I have never done HDR's of people so that might be a fun alternative.

Christmas Breaks 2K14

Over the long holiday break, I went to beautiful California. California is an amazing place and there are so many different adventures to go on. One of the most interesting things that I did on my trip was going to the Winchester Mystery House. This house is enormous. Mrs. Winchester was the husband of Mr. Winchester, the inventor of the Winchester gun. Mrs. Winchesters husband and daughter both died very close to each other, and Mrs. Winchester believed that it was the ghosts of all the people that were killed by their families guns. She then consulted a psychic who advised her that the spirits wanted her to build a house, but she could never stop building on it. For over 38 years she had construction workers building on her house 24/7. There are doors that lead to no where, stairways that lead to the ceiling, and rooms that become more rooms. This house was insane. She was one of the richest people to be alive and spent millions of dollars building this ghostly mansion.
